Updated 2008-02-19 12:01:09This was my second time seeing you guys (the first was back in 2006). I'm so glad I went this time around. I managed to stay front and center for the whole show (which was quite a battle!) The set was great, the sound was awesome, and it was all around just an incredible show. It was great meeting you all in person! Thanks for enduring the cold Massachusetts weather for us. :D
AMAZING!
what an amazing show!!! you guys are so amazing and I was so excited that I finally got to see you. I got my friend to come to see the color fred because he's a tbs enthusiast and would do anything to meet fred mascherino (which he + I both did
so this show. wow. all i can say is wow. from start to finish. when ace enders came out, i was excited. and his set was good for music i've never heard. then fred played through his set and it was good to hear music i knew and that i could sing along too. them meg and dia. well on looks alone, they win. but they sounded really good. dia's mic could have been louder but her cowbell was nice and loud!
then ava. ooooh angels and airwaves. how i love them soo.
the opening was everything i expected, epic. i like how they opened with the vocal from love like rockets and the weird keyboard part going into call to arms. i couldn't stop screaming every word to the songs until tom's solo.
i've watched them on youtube when he did down, or i miss you, or there is. but when he did not now, i tear fell from everyone's cheek near me. and going from that to rite of spring got everyone's hearts racing. and the piano rendition of good day was absolutly amazing and i heard they're recording it for the remix album.
one they played valkyrie missle i couldn't stop screaming. it was so amazing. tom rocked it.
then atom and david's drum solo in star of bethelaham. that was just fucking cool. after they played that and the lights went out, i thought it was over. but i heard keyboards and i knew what was next. The War! god it was the itunes live video time 1000000000!
everything about it was awesome. the lights, sounds, bands, music, drums, guitars, singings, and meeting the bands was just awesome.
play it again sam. play it again.
This was the best concert I have ever been to!
You guys are my favorite. I saw you guys back in 2006 with Taking Back Sunday. You guys were okay, but you guys are phenomenal now! I couldn't believe what an amazing rush I got from hearing your music live.
Tom, your voice sounded so much better then it did before. I love your dance moves on stage too...you looked like a ballerina. Haha.
David, you were amazing up there. I love your drum solo with Atom in Star of Bethlehem. You stole my heart that night, David! :)
Atom, dude, you're the best drummer I know of. You were epic up there!
Matt, you rocked those cool machines you were working up there! It looked like some confusing pieces of equipment. I love that you sang in Love Like Rockets.
Overall you guys were fantastic. My friend came with me. It was her first concert and she was so stoked!
The meet and greet was such an emotional experience for me. I couldn't believe I got to talk to all four of you.
Tom, I know you were moving pretty quick, but the one minute I got with you was magical. On my part, anyway. Haha. Thanks for the hug!
Matt, thanks for taking a picture with me. I know we really didn't get to talk! Hopefully next time!
Atom, you're the coolest dude ever. Thanks for recognizing my screenname. :) "xLoveLikeRocket".
I must first say, the only reason I am giving this show 4 stars is because of the crowd. When I saw the show in Boston in 2006 the CD hadn't come out yet but people knew all the words and the people in the crowd were mostly Blink-182 fans and people who were truly interested in Tom's new project. At the show on February 17th, much of the audience was comprised of 14 year old fan girls who had high heels on and didn't know any of the words to the songs and who spent most of the show on their cell phones. It's not worth spending the money to see a concert if you're not into the band or don't know any of the songs.
Other than that, seeing Angels & Airwaves brings tears to my eyes. Tom's presence is just so big and the songs that the band has created are so beautiful in both musical and lyrical content.
There is just something about this band that, when you see them live, makes you feel so many things. It's not just a concert, it's like an awakening.
My only other negative comment is that the set wasn't long enough (kidding, of course)! I was so dehydrated and dizzy (and had gotten kicked in the head) by the end of the show but I didn't want it to end!
Overall it was an amazing experience. Not as amazing as the first time, but I really feel like that was the fault of the crowd and not the band.
