Updated 2008-09-24 15:01:54great show, great selection of songs and tom came out for "undone (the sweater song)" with weezer to help out on vocals. i do wish they played call to arms but for an opening act, they played a good amount of songs. we did get the first ever live performance of heaven. i did see a lot of AVA shirts yet most of the crowd seemed dead during the performance, it didn't really bother me though bc i was front, dead center not too worried about the crowd behind me.
set list (in order):
Heaven
Everything's Magic
The War
Breathe
Start The Machine
Secret Crowds
Sirens
The Adventure
Well... I only went to this show to see AVA... so I soon left after their set...
On Myspace Tom mentioned that this show would be different and the best show they have ever had... Well, I was a little disappointed... It was almost as if they removed the "balls" from the music and toned every song down. It was different, cool, but did lower my enjoyment value because I was not able to feel that bass and what I was accustomed to at previous shows.
Although I understand they were an opener... It was too short :( and Tom did not mention anything about Travis and his accident... which I felt mystified by... and the setlist... ehh... I felt Breathe was a boring song... and shouldve been replaced by Call To Arms... and... Tom shouldve played LIFELINE!!!
first off AVA did play GREAT..
the crowd felt dead though through AVAs whole set
Weezer was ridiculous and boring
Breathe going into STM was brilliant in my opinion
The worchester show back in Febuary was muchh better
AVA was great, they shouldn't have been the opener because like half the arena left after they stopped playing. the set list was too short, but the lights and effects were really cool. also, their backdrop was also pretty sweet. i got to do the meet & greet so that was also a plus. start the machine was definitely the best song they played, they actually played the piano and that was awesome. overall a good show, but not great. i can't wait for their new record.
