Cate Evens is an artist who knows what she wants. You can get a pretty good impression of that on her fourthcoming solo-ep „angel on th edge". The singer, originally from Brilon, wrote the songs for the four-tracker in cooperation with her guitar-player Torsten Wördemann (ex- Northern Tales); a throughout promising combination!
Special attention should be paid to the up-tempo-songs „sweeping the scene" and „still on this side" to which you inevitably have to bang your head or move your feet and whose melodies will stay in your auditory canals for quite a while!!

The today 24-year-old started her musical career in 1999 when she came to Hamburg to study at the renowned „Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama". Three years later she finished Stage School as a professional musical-performer, had some minor engagements in musicals before finally finding her passion for rockmusic. This passion lead her to the rockband „tryant. With „tryant" Cate released the album „Best Before" and played nation-wide concerts.
But now the power woman is fully concentrating on her solo-career and focused on storming not only the german stages with her band.

The german audience could already convince itself of Cate´s live quality in March ´07 when she was the musical guest at the morning-show „fruehcafé" on Hamburg1 where she gave an impressive unplugged-performance of her ballad „pardon me" (hidden track on „angel on the edge").
But it´s not only Cate´s compelling voice that´s worth coming to a show. It´s also because the quartet knows how to attract your attention optically....

Cate Evens ist eine Künstlerin, die weiß, was sie will. Davon kann man sich auf ihrer kürzlich erschienenen EP „Angel on the Edge" überzeugen. Die Songs für den Viertracker schrieb die in Brilon geborene Sängerin zusammen mit ihrem Gitarristen Torsten Wördemann (ex-Northern Tales); eine durchaus vielversprechende Mischung.
Besondere Aufmerksamkeit erregen die Rocknummern „Sweeping the Scene" und „Still on this Side", bei denen man unweigerlich ins Kopfnicken und Mitwippen verfällt und deren Melodien sich in den Gehörgängen fest fressen.

Begonnen hat die heute 24-jährige ihre musikalische Laufbahn, als sie 1999 nach Hamburg kam, um an der renommierten „Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama" ihre Ausbildung zur Musicaldarstellerin zu absolvieren, die sie drei Jahre später mit Diplom abschloß. Es folgten kleinere Engagements, bevor sie 2003 ihre Liebe zur Rockmusik entdeckte und die Frontposition der Band „tryant" einnahm. Mit „tryant" veröffentlichte Cate 2004 das Album „Best Before" und spielte bundesweit Konzerte.

Jetzt aber ist das Energiebündel voll und ganz auf Solopfaden unterwegs und wird künftig mit ihrer Band nicht nur Deutschlands Bühnen entern.
Von ihrer Live-Qualität konnte sich das Publikum bereits im März '07 überzeugen, als Cate in der TV-Sendung „Frühcafé" auf Hamburg1 zu Gast war und eine beeindruckende Unplugged-Version ihrer Ballade „Pardon me" performte.
Aber nicht nur wegen ihrer fesselnden Stimme lohnt sich eine Konzertbesuch, denn auch optisch zieht das Quartett die Blicke auf sich.
