Bio: KICKING K8 2008 What more can be said about a band totally built on hard work and no easy gifts? KK8 has has taken their internal drive and taken the band to places very few of their peers have seen in a very short amount of time. 2008 will will see the band again with a new guitarist DUSTIN and a new focus. This time its for real. 2008 will be for K8. Take one part modern rock and one part NY/Chicago attitude with a focus on memorable choruses (ala Disturbed, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Sevendust) and you have KICKING K8. What started out as a jam band around Pacific Beach, Ca. in late 2005 has turned into one of the most sought after live acts to come out of San Diego in some time. National radio airplay and interviews on top modern rock stations such as San Diego's Rock 105.3, Madison, WI heavyweight WJJO 94.1, Idaho's Rock K-BEAR, Las Vegas's KOMP, Phoenix's KUPD, Chicago's Rebel Radio, Rockford, Il's "X""and appearances on numerous radio fests, (including repeat appearances at WJJO's BAND CAMP, where they will make an appearance again this year) have introduced the band to the masses. They have been included on the last 3 Jagermeister Music Tours, playing shows alongside the likes of Disturbed, Stone Sour, Staind, Three Days Grace, Slightly Stoopid, HURT and Pepper, and have been added to the latest Jager Music Compilation CD with their single, "Disaster". The band has played 160 shows in 10 states in 2006-2007 with no label support. In 2007, The NHRA, NASCAR, and AMA Supercross have booked the band for concerts to take part in their events which draw well over 50,000 people a day. In the past 10 months the band has shared the stage with Disturbed (2), Three Days Grace (2), Hinder (2), Hurt (2), Soil, Dope, Buckcherry, Our Lady Peace, Staind (2), POD, Helmet, Stone Sour (2), Lacuna Coil, Shadows Fall, Nonpoint(2), Arch Enemy, Chimaira, Slightly Stoopid (2), Pepper (2), Seether, Crossfade (2), Saliva, Sevendust, Kittie, Finger Eleven, and Gary Hoey. Do you see the trend? The band has the pull and the goods to play the big stage, and deliver every single time. The band also recently filmed multiple appearances for the ESPN racing reality series AMERICAN DRAGSTER, that aired earlier this Summer. On June 1, 2007, KK8 reached their latest milestone, playing their hometown arena with fellow San Diegans P.O D and Helmet. Thus far the band has played in front of over 500,000 people. Whats next? In mid 2007 the band set out on their own headlining New Music Tour securing corporate sponsorship from Jagermeister, Vegas Fuel Energy Drink, Ethos Motorsports, and Wired Energy Drink having played 45 dates in 7 weeks! 2008 will be the breakout year for the band. The debut CD will be released July 1st, followed up by yet another summer tour and a third appearance on modern rock heavyweight WJJO's Band Camp along with SHINEDOWN, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, DOPE, and HURT. The bands summer tour has them out .. dates with EARSHOT, IN THIS MOMENT , and pals EVOLOCITY.
