This show was AWESOME!!! Came to see five finger death punch, disturbed, & slipknot. FFDP killed it!! Got in the mosh pit, and that was bad @ss, they got the crowd going, and the metal mulisha guys were killer on the bikes during the show!! :) Disturbed, now that was my first time seeing them, and WOW you totally connected with them on the stage!!! Will see them again! Slipknot was a first as well, and they are PURE entertainment for me, and were good as well. Must say Rockstar Energy has done a KILLER job with both tours they sponsered this year (went to taste of choas as well) and HOPE they continue it!!! Next show Project Revolution for me @ shoreline..tell then keep @ucking rockin'!!!!! :p

I had the time of my life at the Mayhem Fest!! I went to see FFDP, FUKEN AMAZING!! I just wish they would of had more stage time cause I cant get 'enuff of 'em!! I got to meet and greet frontman Ivan/Ghost, took a picture w/him, got an autograph and a guitar pick! He was so nice to all his fans! I LOVED Machine Head, they FUCKEN OWNED, the pit was BRUTAL!! Walls of Jericho were KILLER, frontlady Candace is a SAVAGE!! Black Tide shocked everyone, those youngsters are gonna go a long way, mark my words! Disturbed and Slipknot, so IMPRESSIVE and BADASS what more can I say?? The Slipknot drummer was playing on a stage that rotated all kinds of angles, even upside down!! Absolutley INCREDIBLE!! By far the best $55 i have ever spent!!

I came to see Slipknot, and only Slipknot. So, I came to the festival way later. I was able to see Dragonforce and Disturbed though.
The performances were great. I thoroughly enjoyed the new song "Psychosocial" live . They did not play "All Hope Is Gone", which I think is the only song they didn't play from the July 9th Setlist. Other than that I think it was identical.
Disturbed playing live pretty much sounds exactly as though you were listening to a CD. That's not a good or bad comment, just something to note. I'm one who prefers that the band plays the song as you know it, because the fun is singing and moving to it. In this case, it was made easy as the band played everything spot on.
My biggest complaints have nothing to do with the performances. One is that the lawn section of this venue had incredibly WEAK SOUND. They had speakers there, but either they weren't loud enough, or they can't get any louder. Whether this is the fault of the venue or the tour, it was the most quiet/muffled sound I have ever experienced at a show - which of course detracted from the experience immensely. I'm sure the sound was fine in the seating area that was closer to the stage, but then it's in the seating area.....seats at a metal show should be illegal.
Another thing that made the show worse was the crowd. They were lame. Tons of people walking around with Slipknot shirts on, acting all hard and amped up, but when the actual concert is going on they just stand there (or sit) and look like they are watching TV. I was lucky enough to stumble upon one guy who was screaming and headbanging like me, and just that one guy made it ten times better.
For those of you who plan to come exceedingly late to the show (like I did), in order to just see Slipknot, or Disturbed...
Disturbed went on at about 8:50 pm, finished around 9:45 pm.
Slipknot went on at about 10:10 pm, finished around
11:10 pm.
Of course, I wouldn't depend on those times, it's just information that may assist you in choosing a time to get to the show. Also, this could change from venue to venue as this one was outdoors and I overheard that California has an 11:00 pm curfew for outdoor concerts.

Mayhem Festival was by far the best summer festival I've ever been to. Walls Of Jericho, Five Finger Death Punch, and Suicide Silence were the best bands on the second stage. But Slipknot and Disturbed made the crowd go crazy, it was worth spending $55 bucks.
