This was my first show in Arizona and I have to say
Portland music scene > Tempe/Phoenix music scene.
The crowd was very friendly but didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Only the people in the first few rows seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Needless to say, The Academy is... killed it and out of the five times I have seen them, this is probably my second favorite. I heard all the songs I wanted to hear. William had great stage presence as always.
We the Kings did very well and entertained me even though I only know two of their songs. Travis was hilarious with his talk about redheads. Lets just say I have a thing for Gingers.
I have never heard of Hey Monday but I really like them and enjoyed their set.
Overall, very good for my first concert since Warped tour. I just wish the venue was smaller and the crowd was more excited.
Being in that first few rows is difficult... but worth it.
I am so glad they closed the show with Checkmarks, one of my favorites. There new album is even better live. They are a great band!
I cannot wait to see them again. Please come back.
And GO SEE THEM if you are lucky enough to have that chance.
