Most of the bands there looked and sounded very much the same--generic screaming guys who could easily be mistaken for girls. I found myself impressed by bands like The Bronx, Street Dogs, and Union Beat who were far different than the tight pantsed groups surrounding them. I was personally there for the three ska bands, and I thought that Oreskaband, the Aggrolites, and Reel Big Fish were a very welcome out of place chance. I'd like to see more ska on the tour in the future because hey, that's what the tour started with--but I doubt that'll happen.
The only reason I came to Warped Tour this year was for the ska bands, and really only because I haven't seen Reel Big Fish since last August. Otherwise...I wouldn't have gone.
Needless to say, the ska was this tour's saving grace for me (and in my opinion, this was one of the worse years for the tour).
one of the main reasons i went was to see the color fred and i thought it was BULL SHIT they played at 11:20 because i got there at 12 which was when it was SAID to start and they had already finished playing so i am very upset. i would have liked to know when they were REALLY starting the bands.
There were some pretty aweswome bands.
However, I agree with rockstarchic182, many of the bands I wanted to see started playing before 12. WTF?? I really wanted to see The Color Fred because I missed them last time they were here. I also missed about 3 or 4 other bands because they played so early, and I missed several others just because they played at the same time as another band I wanted to see.
I did have lots of fun, but I was disappointed for a good part of the day.
amazing!!!
When did punk kids turn into such soft weaklings? Angels and Airwaves? Gay. The Devil Wears Prada talked about loving Jesus during their set, and that is just...stupid. What happened to "hail satan"? Even as a joke.
The good; The Bronx is one of the best bands on the planet. There was only a hand full of people watching their set, so everyone missed a hell of show. It was the best show of the day. Against Me! was bad ass, like they always are. I missed part of Maylene and the Sons' set because they played at such a stupid early time, but they were damned good too. I'm not a huge fan of As I Lay Dying, but the put on a good show, and got a huge circle pit going that involve a huge crowd going out and around the sound board. Pretty rad. Every Time I Die tore shit up, literally. They had won a couple large stuffed animals the day before at Six Flags and threw them into the crowd to get incinerated. Good times! Anybody else see the young lad that had the super small red shorts and the big-ass teased hair, lookin' like Robert Smith from the Cure. Damn, what in the hell is going on?
I'm giving the day a five, just because of The Bronx and Against Me!
i thought it was ookk.
Alot of the bands i wanted to see where playing at the same time.
and then there would be like a two hour break where i had to wait.
I went for ADTR and they did AMAZING. and i got to meet them.
So, all together is was almost decent.
I had a great time (though I was out there all damn day).....
None of my favorite bands played at the same time so I got to see everyone that I wanted to see!
I loved it, even though i was late by an hour, and i was lost the first hour, i loved it, i liked Greeley Estates the best
TAI ROCKED THE PLACE!!! THEY WERE GREAT!!!! and so was cobra, but when a band is that early we should get some warning, because i had no idea, and i missed like half their set :(
In my opinion I thought there were about 7 or 8 good bands that I really enjoyed. Too much really heavy stuff and once you listen to so much of it, it kinda starts sounding the same especially if you don't know the band.
Got my wallet stolen during A Day To Remember along with another guy near me. But ADTR was pretty amazing.
@ nikkithebee - Ska was easily the greatest at Warped. Oreskaband seemed really cool with a lot of energy. Reel Big Fish was the highlight of my day, they were so amazing. RBF was no doubt the most talented band there.
TDWP was amazing! They have so much energy and I LOVE the keyboards!!
The whole show was fantastic and we saw a ton of bands.
Can't wait for next years Warped!
Good. Only bad thing was Cobra Starship played first, so I didn't get to see them.
FTSK and 3Oh!3 pretty much rocked though. Got some new favorite bands now, and can't wait for next year, whether I'm in Chicago or the STL!
Great, just like every year!
